What Is 10-Ethoxy-9-hydroxy-delta-6a-tetrahydrocannabinol?

A cannabinoid called 10-Ethoxy-9-hydroxy-delta-6a-tetrahydrocannabinol was discovered in 1977 alongside CBT and is considered a minor phytocannabinoid produced after an ethanol extraction of the cannabis plant.

This compound is projected to have a good number of potential health benefits, and is created along the lines of the cannabitriol (CBT) molecular structure. Since it is only recently known, not much research has been performed, and no animal nor human studies have taken place.

It is mildly psychoactive and generally does not occur naturally in the indica and sativa types of cannabis. It is generally found as an artifact after an ethanolic extraction process, and is thought to be an ethoxylated derivative of CBT.

Hemp plants currently in existence have not been found to contain this compound, though through robust breeding campaigns it may be possible to introduce CBT into hemp and medical cannabis lineages, and then processed with ethanol to create this cannabinoid.
