So, I amended the headline to give some doubt at the claim that there is a lack of evidence. There is a lot of science out there, and the volume is increasing almost daily.

I do agree that there is a lot more studying in clinical settings that does need to occur. In my opinion, it will further confirm the anecdotal evidence that the source for the article, the JAMA Network.

JAMA looked at the subreddit called r/CBD. They analyzed a decent number of posts, and found that many were using CBD for things like autism, depression, anxiety, epilepsy, pain, etc.

Then JAMA went on to try to find scientific sourcing for these anecdotal claims, and found the breadth of science lacking. I tend to agree with this.

What was super interesting to me was the size of those who were using CBD for mental and emotional support. Myself having been a consumer of CBD for pain related issues, I believed that most people were using it for their pain as well.

At least when it comes to the autists on reddit, this does not seem to hold true. And for those who are curious about that word, it is a term of endearment for those who spend their time on reddit and is not a jag at a perceived disability.

I say it is perceived because what these wonderful people lack in one area they are highly advanced in other areas, just like the rest of us. And with the rate of autism rising to 1 in 54 boys as of recent, for reasons ‘unknown’, we have a duty to find natural remedies that are beneficial for humanity to relieve symptoms of ailments and improve the quality of life for all of us.
